Question 1

Are leather beds cold?

Accepted Answer

We’ve all been there – sitting down in a leather car seat in the winter and regretting the lack of blanket! However, this is not the case with a leather bed. As the indoor ambient temperature of your home is much warmer than the cooler outdoor temperatures of your driveway, the leather bedframe and headboard of your complete bed are unlikely to become chilly to the touch and will be comfortable all year round. Add to this it’s classic appearance and easy clean finish – perfect for those who like a snack while binging TV in bed – and a leather-finish complete bed seems the obvious choice. Question 2

How does underbed storage work?

Accepted Answer

Some beds come with useful and surprisingly roomy underbed storage and are commonly known as ottoman beds. These feature a lift-up frame that holds the mattress in the air using hydraulics, allowing you to access the space beneath for storage. When you want to use it, you simply lift the frame beneath the mattress until it has reached its full extension and locks into place, then you are safe to get whatever you need from the bed base with no fear of anything falling on your head. Once you have finished, simply pull the frame and mattress back down, watching for anything that could become trapped before it closes fully, like fingers or bedding. If you would like to purchase a complete bed with ottoman-style storage, simply reach out today and we can take care of it for you - just email us or give us a call.

Question 3

What do I need to add to a complete bed system?

Accepted Answer

If you are looking to order a complete bed for your master or guest bedrooms, our suggestions for next purchases will include: Bedding, a wardrobe, bedside tables (usually 1 or 2) and a lamp, a chest of drawers. However, instead of purchasing these items separately you can save time by ordering a whole bedroom package from Furniture Express! Question 4

I need a complete bed for a rental property – which is best?

Accepted Answer

If you are shopping for yourself, it is often much simpler because you already know what you prefer. However, if shopping for tenants, it can be more complex. For this reason, we would recommend choosing a neutral colour palette if looking for an upholstered bed or to opt for natural materials like leather or wood. This leaves your tenant free to put their own stamp on the room with accessories, artwork, and fabrics, like bedding and curtains, so it feels like home. When you are ready to order, just email us or give us a call to get started – your complete bed system could be with you before you know it.
