Often used in dining rooms or hallways, sideboards can add a real touch of class to any room and are perfect for hiding clutter.

Used in homes for hundreds of years, the sideboard oozes upmarket sophistication and can be used for a multitude of reasons.

So, where are you putting yours?

What is a sideboard?

Designed to hold crockery and serving equipment while providing a space to dish up meals or serve drinks, the sideboard is a relatively narrow piece of furniture that is usually tucked against a wall.

Often called a buffet, credenza, or hutch, the sideboard can be made up of a selection of cabinets and drawers in more solid units, or for more delicate sideboards, there may just be a selection of drawers and long, thin legs.

Most sideboards are rectangular and are orientated horizontally and can be made from a selection of materials – making them ideal for matching with any style of décor.
